A voice for young Queenslanders.
The Queensland Youth Affairs Association exists to make sure everyone under 25 has a real seat at the table. We advocate to government for more entry-level jobs, stronger student and youth rights, and a fairer go for young people right across the state.
Founded in 2026, QYAA is a brand-new, member-led movement still finding its feet — currently a sole operation running as an unincorporated state association. As we grow we'll incorporate, open regional chapters and bring more young voices into the rooms where the decisions get made.
Our mission
To champion young Queenslanders in government — fighting for more entry-level jobs, stronger student and youth rights, and a fairer future for everyone under 25.
Our values
Curiosity, courage, country and care. We honour the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live, work and advocate, and pay our respects to Elders past and present.
Where we're at
Day one. An unincorporated state association founded in 2026 — building community, recruiting our founding members and shaping the programs that will define our first chapter.
The people behind QYAA.
QYAA is led by an Executive Team that drives our work day to day, and a Board that provides independent governance and oversight. Tap any role to read the full position description.
